On Saturday former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick supposed to showcase his skills in front of dozens of NFL scouts in a private workout session at the practice facility for the Atlanta Falcons.

The event was closed to the media.

But as you can see we have video of the thirty-two-year-old’s workout.

Due to a bizarre sequence of events, Kaepernick abruptly canceled the private session and held his own on a high school football field in front of cameras, six NFL scouts and about 300 fans.

Representatives for Kaepernick say friction between the NFL started when it rejected Kaepernick’s request for transparency.

He wanted the session to be open to the media and he wanted to bring his own film crew.

The NFL denied both requests.

Kaepernick’s camp was also upset with the liability waiver the NFL wanted him to sign, saying it was “unusual.”

The NFL said it was a standard waiver used by teams to sign free agents but “Kaepernick’s representatives sent a completely rewritten and insufficient waiver.”

The venue change may have cut down on Kaepernick’s prospects.

In a lengthy statement Saturday evening, the NFL said it was disappointed by the last-minute change of venue and that all thirty-two teams would have received video footage of the workout had he stuck to the original plan.

Kaepernick hasn’t played in the NFL since 2016 after he began kneeling during the national anthem to protest social and racial injustice.
