Instagram’s TikTok copycat ‘Reels’ is now available

Instagram’s copycat version of TikTok is now available in the US and in more than 50 other countries.

The short form video feature is called “Reels” and it was launched on Wednesday.

Instagram owner Facebook has a habit of copying features from rivals and Reels is clearly a carbon copy of TikTok.

Just like TikTok, Reels lets Instagram users make 15 second videos set to music or audio including special-effects.

Reels’ debut comes as President Trump just make good on his threat to issue an executive order banning TikTok.

The order says the video sharing social media app cannot operate in the United States for 45 days unless it is sold by its Chinese parent company.
