Rio De Janeiro Carnival is the most popular festival in Brazil. In fact, there are over thousands of tourists come every year to celebrate it. It’s estimated 2 million people celebrating on the street per a day.

Street festivals are very common during carnival and are highly populated by the locals (Favelas). They all literally celebrated all day. They all wore wigs, painting faces, etc to show how happy and excited they are! Street parades, blocos, and bandas take place throughout the city of Rio during carnival. There can be more than 300 bandas taking place at any given point in time.

On the last week of celebration, it’s really huge. 80% of the annual consumption of beer and 70% of the annual foreign visitors come during this time.
