Laurent Clerc’s school in Paris

Deaf News
Alex visits the Deaf school in Paris where Laurent Clerc studied and taught at before he went to America — the Institut National de Jeunes Sourds de Paris (INJS).

Correction/Clarification: When Clerc left this school to go to America with Thomas Gallaudet, he did not do it to establish Gallaudet University, but to start a deaf education program in the U.S. They started a school that is known today as the American School for the Deaf. This sparked a deaf education movement that included the formation of what is now Gallaudet University.
