Puerto Rico is still without a governor after its Supreme Court ruling Wednesday.

The court ruled that last week’s swearing-in of Pedro Pierluisi was unconstitutional.

Former governor Ricardo Rossello named Pierluisi Secretary of State as he left office, handpicked by Rossello to be his successor.

But court justices pointed out that Puerto Rico’s legislature did not confirm his nomination.

Rossello stepped down Friday after weeks of protests over offensive group chat messages.

It’s unclear what may happen next.

Current Justice Secretary Wanda Vazquez Garced may become governor.

But Sunday she posted on Twitter she’s not interested in the position.
