The number of missing people in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian dropped to 1,300.

On Wednesday the government said the number of missing people stood at about 2,500.

The number dropped after the government cross-referenced their databases.

Right now the death toll in the Bahamas is 50.

The death toll is expected to rise as search-and-rescue teams search through ruins in the Bahamas.

A Bahamian official has urged people to continue submitting missing persons through hotline or visiting the social services offices.
