The moment all parents wait for is the moment they see their baby smiling at them.

For Emma and Steward Labuschagnes this picture is a living miracle.

Their fourteen month old baby boy Michael had been in a coma for five days.

He has a rare tumor that can block the flow of blood to his heart.

The tumor is so rare that no surgeon in the UK where he lives knows how to remove it.

Back in March he suddenly stopped breathing.

That’s when doctors placed him in a medically induced coma.

But after five days, Michael woke up, recognizes dad and smiled up at him.

And more good news for the Labuschagnes.

Boston Children’s Hospital in the US knows how to treat their son.

Right now the Labuschagnes are crowdsourcing the $147,000 they need on GoFundMe.

So far they’ve surpassed that goal.

They are hoping Michael can get the surgery in April.

For now they’re just enjoying time with their baby boy who now has an internal defibrillator and pacemaker to support his heart.
