This is the time of year when many people become secret Santas.

This is when a group of friends or coworkers exchange Christmas presents anonymously.

Each member of the group will buy a small gift that costs an agreed upon amount, typically between $5 and $25.

But according to a report by JobSite, a majority of workers between the ages of 23 and 38 are not fans of the holiday tradition.

The reason?

The financial burden that comes with it.

The report found that 72% of millennial workers participated in secret Santa even though they said they can’t afford it, especially when there’s no cost limit set for the gift.

26% say they have had to dip into their savings to contribute.

To make matters worse, 17% said they felt other colleagues actually judged them based on their gifts.

Experts say one way to make things easier is to simply suggest price limits to help lessen the pressure that comes with gift giving.
