Having to explain the pandemic to young children can be difficult.

So New York mom Stephanie Trilling is recreating popular children’s book covers to help explain it to kids.

Trilling says she decided to paint covers of the classic books and paintings of “cartoonified coronaviruses.”

So instead of “Green Eggs and Ham,” it’s “Green Eggs and Wash Your Hands.”

And instead of “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” it’s “Cloudy with a Chance of Panic Hoarding.”

These are just a few of the titles Trilling has recreated.

Trilling hopes to partner with nonprofits to sell the paintings and donate the proceeds.

But in the meantime it’s a way for her to document what is going on and spend time with her children.
