This is video from a restaurant in Houston, Texas.

You can see there is a pretty sizable crowd packing the restaurant.

What is not apparent is if the restaurant is following Texas’ 25% capacity guideline and maintaining a distance of 6 feet from people not in their own party.

Many states and countries have the same restrictions.

And restaurant owners all over the globe are saying the same thing: if social distancing rule stay in place, the restaurant industry could be wiped out.

Restaurants and bars need volume and traffic to exist.

One restaurant owner in New York said there is no interest or excitement in having a half-full dining room with people getting their temperatures taken and wearing masks for not much money.

The restaurant and bar business model and social distancing are not compatible.

While many restaurants have become creative by offering delivery and pickup services, it may not be enough to sustain its existence.

And that is forcing restaurants to face the harsh reality: if social distancing becomes the norm, a great number of restaurants and bars will shut down forever.
