The US Labor Department released new unemployment numbers and they are not good.

Another 1.8 million Americans filed for unemployment last week.

That means more than one fourth of the US labor force, or 42.6 million people, have claimed unemployment benefits since the coronavirus pandemic started.

You would think that no one will want to lose their job during the worst job market since the Great Depression.

But you would be wrong.

According to new statistics, thousands of people across the country are volunteering to be laid off and accepting buyout offers from their companies.

Business experts say voluntary layoffs will save the jobs of other people, offer options for people looking to make a life change and can lift morale for both employers and employees during difficult times.
